the parade

a shot of Central Park for good measure ^_^
Every year since I was a little girl, I've watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on the television.  I love all the crazy floats, and the cheesy performances and giant marching bands.  I love when Santa shows up at the end because then you know it's really Christmas time.

This year, some of my family and I trekked across the city from the East to the West side and saw the parade LIVE!  We planned on waking up really early so that we could get a good viewing spot, but no one set an alarm, and we woke up only half hour before the parade began.  We grabbed coffees and booked it across the park.  At first, it was impossible to see anything except a float or two behind the trees, but eventually we inched up closer and closer.  My sister Susie, my sister-in-law Erin, & I somehow lost the rest of the family and pushed our way to the very front just in time for the end of the parade.  It was so much fun that I just had to show you a few of my photos. xx

  4. Love these shots. It doesn't feel like there are thousands of people around, just you and the floats.
