london part 1 (portobello market)

At 8:00am (UK time) on Saturday the 12th, my cousin and I landed at Heathrow.  The sun was shining, the skies were blue, and I couldn't believe I was back in London.  After lugging our bags to the hostel, we met up for breakfast with my best friend, who's studying in the city at Regents College.   Even though Erin and I were definitely feeling jet lagged, we decided to make the most of the beautiful day and headed over to Portobello Road, home of the famed Portobello Market.  The buildings are quirky and colorful, and there are all kinds of fun things to feast your eyes upon.  The market stretches all along the road, and sells everything from antiques and vintage clothing, to delicious crêpes and old vinyl.  Later that evening, the three of us went to a cute Italian restaurant in Marylebone, and ate pasta and drank wine.  Needless to say, we slept well that night.

Without furthur ado, here are some pictures from our wonderful afternoon at Portobello!

  11. LOL @Meg, I was just reading about your pastry affinity on YOUR blog and here you are again. Just buy a dozen and scarf them immediately. Just what the doctor ordered... And by doctor, I mean me.

I love these pictures and I really want to visit London. Actually, I want to visit anywhere I haven't been but London looks/sounds wonderful!
